Series 60

60- series of inks.

Provides good adhesion to PE and PP and other non-absorbent materials, high saturation and abrasion resistance.

Some nuances of printing with water-based flexographic inks on films and non-absorbent materials.

Traditionally, films are printed with flexographic inks based on organic solvents. Often they are simply called alcohol inks. But lately, the use of water-based inks for printing on films is gaining more and more popularity.

The use of water-based inks has a number of advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages of W/B inks when printing on films:

  • fireproof (perhaps one of the most important benefits);
  • environmentally friendly (no need to use organic solvents);
  • cheap (water paint is cheaper than alcohol paint);
  • possibility to print more saturated colors than with alcohol inks;

The disadvantages of W/B inks versus alcohol-based inks:

  • the need to use dryers (water evaporates more slowly than solvents, so ink needs to dry harder);
  • adhesion properties and resistance characteristics are slightly worse than those of alcohol based inks.

Therefore, it is important to take into account the requirements of the product you produce and take the time to analyze the advantages and disadvantages when choosing.
